Why create a local Mapit?

Pre-requisites

What you'll need:

• A GitHub account if you don't have one, and git installed locally
• A working install of GeoDjango - installation instructions
• The relevant boundary databases for your country

Boundary databases can be very large, and in the UK, we found that the only way to get hold of some of them was to apply for a DVD copy by post. So it's worth planning for the final step in advance.
