City Events 2011
From Opendataday
|
- Add your name/city to run an open data hackday in your city on 3rd December 2011
- Tell your people to add themselves as participants in the wiki so we know who’s up for doing what. Check out the list from last year for inspiration around what to add and how to organize online.
- A number of the organizers are coordinating though this email list hosted by the Open Knowledge Foundation, but it is not necessary to participate: http://lists.okfn.org/mailman/listinfo/open-data-day
- Hashtags! Use the twitter hashtags #odhd + #yow <= (your airport code) for hashtags. This lets us geocode and visualize tweets from around the world
- There is now a HackFest 2011 (odhd) Topic page on BuzzData! Now when you publish ODHD-related datasets you plan to work during the event, you can tag it with the "HackFest 2011" topic and it will be indexed to this page in real time, so other around the world can follow to stay updated on the day's developments.
- If you would like to create a fast and easy-to-access repo for your city's HackFest 2011 event, you can make one on BuzzData. This is a demo account created for the City of Toronto, for example. Need help setting up your hub? You can email momoko@buzzdata.com and she'll help you out.
Quer executar um hackday de dados aberto em sua cidade em 03 de dezembro de 2011? Adicione seu nome / cidade na lista abaixo! ;-) Por favor!

- Despoina Mhtropoulou, Nikos Roussos - (http://www.ellak.gr)
- Spiros Athanasiou (http://www.imis.athena-innovation.gr and http://geodata.gov.gr)
The event is organized roughly a year after GeoDataCamp 2010, so it is fine time to reflect on how we progressed these 12 months, and where to focus in the year to come. Many things have changed in Greece: two new laws safeguarding open access to public sector information, more published open data, and an ever growing community of volunteers.
We expect a good turnout from public authorities and hopefully formal announcements for more open data!
